This original Florida art - on stretched canvas - was completed in February, 2008, and was signed by this artist, R.Geddings. Extra knife work is included in the clouds and water reflections of this painting !

As the title ("Island In The Glades") indicates, this painting depicts a typical scene of that area of The Florida Everglades where the grassy plain meets the lower wetlands. Once more, this popular Florida artist has caught on canvas a typical Florida scene of an island surrounded by the shallow waters of the the Everglades. Wading in these shallow waters is one of Florida's native birds, the Great White Heron. Having finished his snack, the Heron is heading for the grass for a rest ! The seagull hovering above is still searching for an unlikely fish !

Notice that both the "island" as well as rest of the landscape contain Cabbage Palms along with other lush Florida foliage. The wide, bright sky is covered with white cumulous clouds which are casting their reflections on the water.
