This oil painting is a scene in the Florida Everglades at an area called "Sawgrass Plains". The painting is 6 in a series of Everglades studies and 2 in a series of plains paintings.

As the viewer can see, the artist has captured the beautiful colors of the vast Florida sky on a nice bright day. Note the gull flying over the shallows in search of a quick meal !

This scene, as is any Everglades back-country image, is very calming and relaxing as the viewer takes in the tranquility of the famous Florida "Glades".

The clusters of tall palm trees in the foreground of a sawgrass plain is very authentic to this part of Florida.
