This "Geddings Original" Florida oil painting, on stretched canvas, is Riley's first completion for the new year of 2008, and is signed by this talented artist, R. Geddings. Extra knife work is included in the clouds and water reflections of this painting !

As the title ("Everglades Inlet") indicates, this painting depicts a typical scene of that area of The Florida Everglades nearing where they meet the Gulf of Mexico of Florida's lower west coast. Once more, this popular Florida artist has caught on canvas the waters of a tidal inlet as they approach the Sawgrass Plains. Wading in these shallow, brackish waters are two of Florida's native birds, the Great White Heron, searching for a seafood lunch.

That inlet scene is bordered by typical Florida foliage and three Cabbage Palms, also native of this beautiful state. Of special interest, is the pyramidal effect produced by the overhead cumulous clouds which are reproduced as subtle reflections on the water. As in most of his typical Florida oil paintings, Riley has again included the "hallmark" of a "Geddings Original" - namely the seagull hovering overhead, and he too is searching for his seafood lunch along with his nearby fellow gull.

The colors you see on your computer screen do not do justice to those in the actual painting which are simply gorgeous ! This signed and certified oil painting will be a valuable addition to this collector's Florida Art collection !
